I’ve always adored telling stories about love and ever since getting married last November, I’ve become more of a romantic than ever; valuing the beauty, intimacy and depth of relational vulnerability that we were made to flourish in. More than ever, as a photographer, my heart is for cultivating, capturing and sharing the wonder of wholehearted, passionate and grace-filled love – in every season of life!
Earlier this year, Matt reached out to me and invited me along to capture the moment where he would propose to Monica and enter into a new season of life with her, preparing with certainty for a lifetime of marriage together. It was an absolute pleasure to help Matt plan his surprise proposal in the mountains and to dream up an evening of magic, light and overflowing joy for them both as I captured them in their elated celebration. It was particularly special to get to capture Matt and Mon’s proposal in the mountains, as Dickson had actually proposed to me in the dreamiest spot not twenty minutes away from where Matt ended up popping the question to Mon! The mountains have always been particularly close to my heart and it’s such a gift to be able to create moments of genuine intimacy, joy and tenderness for others there too.
We were treated to a stunning sunset and even the freezing 70km/hour winds and 2°C temperatures couldn’t get us down! Here are just a few of my favourites from their proposal/engagement session.
